Resources for Remote Instruction and Meetings

NSM has compiled resources which can help you transition to online teaching starting on March 23.

Once you have chosen your method of instruction, you should conduct one or two test runs with your students during the week of March 16–20. This will allow you to work out any issues and to answer any questions your students may have.

Effective March 25, the UH library’s computer labs and other computer labs on campus are closed due to the Harris County Stay Home, Work Safe order. If you have students living off campus who have poor internet connections or no WiFi, information is available here on how to improve your off-campus internet access as well as available resources for internet or mobile data service. WiFi is available for on-campus residents who have elected to remain in UH Housing. Updated 3/31/20

As a reminder, all communications to students should mirror the communications sent out by the University. Please be patient with this process and your students as this is a stressful situation for all.

The Office of the Provost will continue to contact faculty with updated information regarding academic instruction as we move forward in the coming weeks.

For more information, you can review the University’s Academic Continuity in the Event of an Extended Emergency plan at the link www.uh.edu/blackboard/faculty/academic-continuity-from-eit.pdf.
