Continuity of Undergraduate Advising

The NSM Undergraduate Advising Center has transitioned its operations to a remote format. As always, students may call 713-743-2626 during regular business hours for immediate assistance.

General Questions

Advisors are available to answer general advising questions via email. Students should include their UHID# in all communications.

Advising Appointments

Appointment scheduling will continue as normal via Navigate.

  • Virtual Advising
    Instead of a face-to-face meetings, NSM Advisors will meet with students virtually using Zoom at their scheduled time. Advisors will email students in advance with online meeting links and any additional instructions to facilitate the advising appointment.
  • Phone Option
    Students who prefer a phone conversation should email their advisor at least 30 minutes before their scheduled appointment time to make necessary arrangements.
  • Cancellations
    Students unable to meet virtually at their scheduled time should cancel and reschedule the session via Navigate.

Group Advising (UHin4 & Change of Major)

  • Virtual Sessions
    These sessions will be held via Zoom at the time for which the student registered (via Navigate or with the Undergraduate Advising Center front desk staff). Advisors will email students in advance with online meeting links and any additional instructions to facilitate the advising appointment.
  • Cancellations
    Students unable to meet virtually at their scheduled time should cancel and reschedule the session via Navigate.
  • Phone Option
    Students who prefer a phone conversation should email their advisor prior to their scheduled session to set up a separate appointment time.

Digital Access to Advising Tools

Students have instant access to their Degree Requirements (in their Student Center portal) and other useful tools via AccessUH.
