NSM Fall 2024 Update

Enrollment Overview

The Fall 2024 semester begins on August 19, and students, staff, and faculty are gearing up for a great semester. NSM’s undergraduate headcount is up by 4.71% with over 5,200 students enrolled where 1,459 are new FTICs and transfer students. Also, the NSM undergraduate SCH is up by 4.05% compared to Fall 2023. Enrollment and SCH numbers are above those recorded pre-pandemic. The College goal is to increase undergraduate headcount and SCH by 2-3% annually, which has been achieved for Fall 2023 and 2024; however, the Office of First Year Programs and the NSM Undergraduate Advising Center continue to reach out to over 100 new students who attended orientation but have not enrolled as well as to students who were enrolled in the Spring 2024 but have not enrolled for Fall 2024.

Fall 2024 Syllabus Language

The updated syllabus language document for academic year 2024–2025 includes all required and recommended optional information. Texas law requires posting of the syllabus so that students are aware of the course policies. Review your course policies to ensure they are supportive of an inclusive learning environment. Consider having your department curriculum committee, if applicable, review your syllabus to provide feedback on your course policies. Your syllabus should be posted in PeopleSoft as well as in Canvas/Teams if you will be using these platforms. Consider using the NSM syllabus template which includes the updated syllabus language. This document is in the Resources section of the NSM website. Also, you will need to upload your CV in your Faculty Center.
