NSM Establishing Resource Committees for Faculty and Staff
Due to Senate Bill 17, which prohibits public institutions of higher education from maintaining diversity, equity, and inclusion offices, and conducting DEI-related trainings, programs, and activities, the NSM Faculty and Staff DEI Committees have been dissolved.
The College is forming new committees that are in compliance with the requirements of SB17. The faculty and staff committees will focus on providing resources, programs, and activities with a commitment to creating and/or expanding support programming.
Get Involved: Faculty Resource Committee Formation
The primary goal of the new faculty committee will be to provide support to all NSM faculty for enhancing teaching, research, and service. The College would like gauge faculty interest for serving on such a committee and would like to get input on ideas/suggestions for events and programs that can be led by the committee to foster collaboration, partnership, and community among NSM faculty for advancing science knowledge.
If you are interested in serving on or learning more about this committee, please complete this form. The new committee will start in January 2024.
Ideas Needed: Formation of the Staff Resource Committee
NSM would like to reimagine the staff committee, and your help is needed!
If you are interested in providing input on how to best reform the committee and/or in participating in the new committee, please reach out to Alex Gilles, agilles@central.uh.edu.
