Hot Topics in NSM: Three-Minute Thesis Competition
All faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend NSM’s Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition! Presenters will showcase their research using a single static slide and just three minutes to explain it.
Date: Friday, October 24, 2025
Time: 3–5 PM
Location: PGH 232
Two winners will be recognized:
- Judges’ Choice: Selected by a panel with one graduate student judge from each department
- People’s Choice: Selected by the audience
Each winner will receive a $100 Amazon gift card. Attendees will also get a chance to vote for the People’s Choice winner—so bring your expertise, curiosity, and support for our students!
This event is a great opportunity to see the breadth of research happening across NSM, spark new ideas, and even identify future collaborators.
Graduate students interested in participating should email their name, draft slide, and research program to Jeremy May at jm22@central.uh.edu, their Program Faculty Chair and their research supervisor by October 1.
If multiple students apply from one department, the Program Faculty Chair will help determine the department’s representative.
