NSM Student Leaders Create Web Resources on Racial Injustice
In light of the recent social unrest in Houston, across the nation, and globally, it is important to that we come together and take a stand against the injustices faced by the Black community. To facilitate conversations between faculty, staff, and students, the NSM Student Leadership team assembled a list of resources posted on the Resources on Racial Injustice & Anti-Racism webpage that can shed light on the existing inequalities and help to educate and guide us to solutions for repairing a broken system.
The webpage is a living document which will highlight articles, books, podcasts, etc., and will be the inspiration for the larger, ongoing NSM Talks, Listens, and Shares events of the Office of First Year Programs.
We encourage you to check out these materials and participate in the conversation by bringing your experiences and ideas on fixed policies and systemic issues to the table to strengthen the NSM community. Given our role in higher education, we are all in the position to set the tone for change as we unite to educate ourselves on racial injustice and anti-racism.
If you would like to have materials considered for addition to the webpage, please email nsmyear1@central.uh.edu.
