Bernhard Bodmann to Serve as Chair of the Department of Mathematics
Bernhard Bodmann will officially become Chair of the Department of Mathematics on August 1. He replaces the outgoing Chair, Jiwen He, who is stepping down after serving for six years.
Dr. Bodmann joined the University of Houston in 2007 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to full Professor in 2016. He is a well-established and internationally recognized mathematician. His research focuses on functional and harmonic analysis, frame theory, and uncertainty principles.
Dr. Bodmann is currently serving as the Associate Chair of the mathematics department and chaired the Research and Scholarship Committee of the Faculty Senate in 2022–23.
