Hyeongseon (Sammy) Jeon, Assistant Professor
Dr. Jeon joined the University of Houston as a Presidential Frontier Faculty Assistant Professor with joint appointments in the Department of Mathematics and Department of Health Systems & Population Health Sciences. His research as a statistician focuses on developing methods for gene expression data analysis, enhancing the detection of target genes, and creating innovative techniques using advanced technologies. He earned his statistics Ph.D. at Iowa State University, specializing in bulk RNA-seq data analysis and expanded his expertise in single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics during postdoctoral work at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is enthusiastic about collaborating with colleagues and contributing to the vibrant research community within the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at UH. He would be pleased to connect over a cup of coffee — hsjeon@uh.edu.
