This monthly newsletter informs faculty of important NSM and UH issues, developments and achievements.
New College Success Measures Set
All UH colleges are evaluated yearly on a set of predefined success measures. Ten measures will be used to evaluate NSM for FY19.
FY20 Budget Planning Underway
NSM’s FY20 Budget Plan is due by end of March. This article covers topics for the report, information requested from departments, and what colleges know about the budget.
UH Budget Transparency Initiative
The initiative, launched in August 2018, targets the review of budget models, the proposal of new budgeting strategies, and transparency in the budgeting process. Three NSM faculty members are on one of the subcommittees.
Shishir Shah Appointed Chair of Computer Science Department
Shah will become chair on September 1, 2019.
ADVANCE Faculty Climate Survey
The 2017 climate survey results revealed areas of strength and weakness for each college. NSM’s ADVANCE Faculty Climate Taskforce gathered information and prepared a report detailing findings and suggested actions.
