Shishir Shah Appointed Chair of Computer Science Department
Shishir Shah will officially become chair of the Department of Computer Science on September 1, 2019. He replaces outgoing chair, Jaspal Subhlok, who is stepping down after serving for nine years.
Dr. Shah came to UH in 2005 and was promoted to full professor in 2016. His research expertise is in computer vision, video analytics, and human behavior understanding. He has three edited books and over 200 publications to his credit.
He has served the department as Director of Undergraduate Studies and Associate Chair and the Faculty Senate as Chair of the Undergraduate Committee.
